Three people were killed during a nasty crash on Route 295 in Cherry Hill Thursday morning.
Three vehicles, including two trucks, were involved in an accident on the southbound side of Route 295 near the exit for Route 70 at about 10 a.m.
The driver of a tractor trailer told police he was headed northbound on Route 295 when he was cut off by another driver. The driver lost control of the semi, crossing the median and struck a Volkswagen initially in the southbound lanes.
Police said the semi then crashed into a box truck.
The driver of the Volkswagen, Lawrence Keller, was killed. The driver of the box truck, Juma Rajab, and the passenger, Renee Lesenko, were also killed.
The driver of the tractor trailer was not seriously injured in the tragic crash and was interviewed by investigators following the accident.
So far, no charges have been filed.
The southbound side of Route 295 was shut down for several hours following the tragic accident. At about 4:45 p.m., several lanes were reopened after crews finished clearing the scene.
The deadly accident remains under investigation.
