Poll: N.J. Governor's Race Too Close To Call
TRENTON (AP) ―
A new poll finds the New Jersey governor's race too close to call.
The Fairleigh Dickinson-PublicMind Poll out Friday asked voters for their choices two ways.
When asked only about major-party candidates, Gov. Jon Corzine was favored by 44 percent of likely voters with GOP challenger Chris Christie at 43 percent. Six percent volunteered they supported independent Chris Daggett, with 4 percent undecided.
When a smaller group of voters were asked about all three candidates, Christie got 41 percent, Corzine 39 and Daggett 14 percent with 6 percent undecided.
The election is Tuesday.
The telephone poll of 694 likely voters was taken Oct. 22-28 and has a sampling error margin of plus or minus 4 percentage points.
