Police Pursuit Ends With Crash In SW Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ―
Two suspects are in custody after a police pursuit ended with a violent crash in Southwest Philadelphia Friday.
Officers began pursuit of a vehicle for unknown reasons at about 11:30 a.m. The chase came to an abrupt halt when the suspects' vehicle crashed into several cars near 52nd Street and Woodland Avenue.
Police said the suspects raced through nine blocks before plowing into six vehicles.
Two suspects were apprehended at the scene. Several people were treated for minor injuries.
It was not immediately known what prompted the police pursuit in the first place.
SEPTA and road traffic was halted in the area while the scene was cleared.
The incident remains police investigation.
