Philly Airport Parking Prices Increase In Effect
PHILADELPHIA (AP) ―
Starting today, it's going to cost more to park at Philadelphia International Airport.
Philadelphia Parking Authority spokeswoman Linda Miller says rates in the garages will rise about $2 on Aug. 1 for stays of longer than two hours.
Miller says the changes will generate $6 million in gross revenue. After expenses, the net proceeds will go directly to the airport. That will help hold down the rents that the airport charges airlines.
The increases also reflect the citywide parking tax increase enacted by Mayor Michael Nutter and City Council. The rate went from 15 percent to 20 percent on July 1.
