Suspect Arrested In Bensalem Murder, Rape

BENSALEM (CBS 3) ― Police said a suspect has been arrested in connection with the carjacking, murder and rape in Bensalem.

Omar Cash, 26, was arrested in New York City on charges of driving under the influence and driving a stolen vehicle.

Cash is wanted in Bucks County after the execution-style murder of 32-year-old Edgar Rosas-Gutierrez in Bensalem on May 11.

Police said Cash allegedly carjacked Rosas-Gutierrez and his date as they left a nightclub on Castor Avenue in Philadelphia at about 3:40 a.m. He allegedly raped the female inside the vehicle while directing Rosas-Gutierrez to drive northbound on Route 1.

Rosas-Gutierrez was fatally shot in the back of the head and left for dead on Route 1 near the eastbound Street Road ramp. Police said the female was taken to Lawrenceville, N.J. home where she was repeatedly sexually assaulted by the suspect.

The victim was able to break free at some point and notify authorities. The suspect was able to flee the scene.

Cash is expected to face extradition to Pennsylvania in connection with the violent crime.
