Search Suspended For Missing Delaware River Boater

1 person was rescued and another is missing after a boat capsized in the Delaware River on October 30, 2009

The Coast Guard has suspended its search for one of two boaters who is missing after the boat he was aboard capsized in the Delaware River near the Commodore Barry Bridge early Friday morning.
Officials said two people were aboard a 15-foot pleasure craft when it began to sink into the river at about 3:30 a.m. near Marcus Hook.
Officials said one man was able to swim to safety. A second man, identified as 21-year-old Joel Arizza of Lansdowne, remains missing. Arizza was reportedly not wearing a life jacket.
The Coast Guard suspended the search at 4:09 p.m. Friday.
An aircrew from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City, N.J., a boat crew from Coast Guard Station Philadelphia and the crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Finback, homeported in Cape May, N.J., assisted members of the Delaware County Fire and Rescue, New Jersey State Police, Tinicum Fire and Rescue from Essington, Pa., and the Chester Police Department in the search.
The incident remains under investigation.
