Philadelphia Police
Philadelphia Police have identified a person of interest in connection with a hit and run crash that left twin eight-year-old girls injured Tuesday.
Investigators are hoping to talk with 22-year-old Shawn Timbers after the accident in the Crescentville section of the city.
Police said the twins were struck by a 2000 grey Lincoln Town Car at the intersection of Colgate Street and Cheltenham Avenue at about 3:30 p.m. The driver did not stop.
The young girls were transported to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children. One of the victims, identified as Kaitlyn Bradfield, is listed in critical condition, but stable condition. Her sister Eryca was initially listed in stable condition, but she was released from the hospital on Wednesday.
"It's really kind of mean how he can hit somebody and see a little child on the hood of your car and not stop and just run her over," the victims' mother Maryanne McIntyre said.
McIntyre said Kaitlyn has injuries to her stomach and a "little bit of bleeding inside."
The suspect's vehicle was found parked several blocks from the scene a short time after the accident.
According to sources, Timbers has seven prior arrests on charges ranging from aggravated assault, drugs and recklessly endangering another person.
In each of the seven cases, the charges were either dismissed or withdrawn.
