Philadelphia Police are trying to determine how a suspect who allegedly groped a Kensington high school student was able to later enter the school Monday morning.
A female student told police she was walking to Kensington Creative and Performing Arts High School when she inappropriately groped by a man on the street.
The student immediately reported the incident to a school police officer who then notified Philadelphia Police.
Following a police interview, the female student went to the school's cafeteria for breakfast and noticed the suspect sitting at a table eating a morning meal. The student began screaming, prompting the intruder to flee the school.
Police and the school district are investigating how the man was able to enter the school unnoticed.
On June 2, school officials sent home a letter informing parents of the incident and the ongoing investigation.
The groping incident occurred the same day an 11-year-old Kensington student was raped while walking to school. Police are currently questioning a person of interest in connection with the violent attack.
Currently, no connection has been established between the two assaults.
