Police are investigating a violent home invasion in Northeast Philadelphia.

Two suspects reportedly broke into a home on the 8900 block of Dewees Street in the Pennypack section of Philadelphia overnight.

A man inside the residence was shot during the robbery. He was rushed to an area hospital in critical condition.

Authorities said the suspects fled in the victim's 2008 Cadillac STS. Northeast Detectives are investigating.
