Family Searches For Answers In Deadly Hit-Run

SHARON HILL, Pa. (CBS 3) ― The family of a teen killed in a hit and run in Delaware County is desperate to understand why the driver responsible has not yet been brought to justice.

Faith Sinclair, 16, was crossing the street near Chester Pike and Laurel Road in Sharon Hill when she was struck by a vehicle the evening of August 3.

"You took my little girl and left her there to die in her boyfriend's arms on the side of the road," Faith's mother Kimberly Ferrell said.

Since the day of the tragic incident, Kimberly has gone to her daughter's gravesite and has read aloud the book that they were sharing at the time of the accident.

"I can go when I sit and read with her and I can say 'sweetie, you can rest easy now, it's over,' that's all I want," Kimberly said.

The owner of a car seized by Delaware County authorities in connection to the fatal hit and run is being called a person of interest in the crime.

Investigators seized a 2000 black Mercedes from a home in the 300 block of State Road in Upper Darby on August 6.

Police said the car is registered to Lemuel Payne, who lives at the residence where the car was found. Payne has since retained an attorney.

A $10,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction in connection with the deadly hit and run.
