Average Gas Price Drops Below $3 In Jersey
(AP)
The average price of gasoline in New Jersey is $2.99.
That's the first time since March that gasoline in the state is below $3, but still up from the average pump price for regular of $2.53 a year ago.
AAA-Mid-Atlantic says prices have been on the decline since July 8, when average prices at the pump hit a record high of $4 per gallon.
Motor club spokesman David Weinstein says prices could fall another 20 cents statewide before Thanksgiving.
South Jersey counties along the Delaware River have the lowest average in the state at $2.88. In Middlesex, Hunterdon and Somerset counties, they're $3.01.
