Couple Injured In Gloucester Co. Fire

An elderly couple was hospitalized after an early morning fire in Gloucester County Wednesday.

Firefighters were called to a home on Cross Keys Road in Washington Township after reports of the blaze in the early morning hours.

Officials said an elderly man and woman were rescued from the home and taken to an area hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation. Their condition is currently unknown.

No additional injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
