Hearing For Philadelphia Shooting Suspects Delayed

Videotape Showed Suspects Being Beaten By Police

PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ― A hearing for three shooting suspects caught on tape being beaten by Philadelphia Police was delayed Friday.

Officials said the preliminary hearing for 25-year-old Dwayne Dyches, 23-year-old Brian Hall and 19-year-old Pete Hopkins was postponed until mid-July after several witnesses failed to appear.

Family members of the suspects expressed their outrage over the reports several officers allegedly involved in the beating are back on the street.

The assault was captured on tape by Sky Fox 29 on May 5, as police were searching for suspects in the death of Sergeant Stephen Liczbinski.

Officers said they witnessed the suspects take part in a shooting nearby before the incident.

The judge in Friday's hearing recused herself from hearing bail motions without explanation.
