Controversial Ad Painted Over

PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ― A fresh coat of paint has been placed over a controversial graffiti-style ad for malt liquor seen on Philadelphia buildings.

CBS 3 cameras were at Girard Avenue and Palmer Street where a large mural ad for Colt 45 was painted over after causing controversy in the neighborhood.

Philadelphia's Department of Licenses and Inspections issued four citations to Pabst Brewing, the maker of Colt 45, for not having proper permits for the large displays.

Members of the city's non-profit Mural Arts Program complained the ads were distasteful and should be removed because they were not placed in an area zoned for advertising.
