Delaware Gets $1 Million To Fight Child Porn
DOVER, Del. (AP) ―
Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden says the state has received more than $1 million dollars to fight Internet child pornography.
Sgt. Kevin Perna of the Delaware State Police High Tech Crimes Unit said child porn isn't easy to find. But their sophisticated equipment can catch anyone exchanging child porn using e-mails, external servers and file sharing programs. He said authorities know exactly "what key strokes they've used" and "files they've deleted."
When Biden announced the funding Wednesday, he displayed a map pinpointing the location of everyone in Delaware exchanging child porn files. There were 48 places listed across the state as he spoke.
Just under half of the funding is stimulus dollars. The rest comes from the federal COPS grant and the Justice Department's Internet Crimes Against Children program.
