Body Found In North Philadelphia Trash Truck

PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ― Police are investigating the discovery of a body in the rear of a trash truck in North Philadelphia early Wednesday morning.

Sanitation crews spotted a man in the truck's trash compactor while collecting refuse near 17th and Norris Streets at about 4:15 a.m.

Investigators believe the victim was homeless and had been sleeping in a nearby dumpster.

Further details were not immediately available. The incident remains under investigation.
