Suspect Sought In Deadly Carjacking, Rape

BENSALEM, Pa. (CBS 3) ― Authorities have released surveillance footage of a man wanted in connection with a deadly carjacking this past weekend.

The suspect was captured on surveillance tape paying for a hotel room in Lawrenceville, New Jersey.

Investigators said the suspect carjacked Edgar Perez Rosas Gutierrez in Juanita, shot him in the head and dumped his body near Route 1 and Street Road in Bensalem.

Gutierrez's body was found by police at about 2 p.m. on Sunday.

Police believe Gutierrez and his date were abducted from outside a nightclub on the 4500 block of Castor Avenue in Northeast Philadelphia sometime Sunday morning.

According to police, the suspect killed Guiterrez and dumped his body before allegedly raping Gutierrez's date repeatedly in the Lawrenceville hotel room. The female victim was somehow able to escape.

The suspect remains on the loose. If you have any information, you are urged to contact police.
