Senator Fumo Released From Hospital
PHILADELPHIA (AP) ―
State Sen. Vincent Fumo was released from a hospital on Sunday, a week to the day after the Philadelphia Democrat had a heart attack.
Fumo had been in Hahnemann Hospital's cardiac critical care unit until Tuesday, when he was transferred to a regular room.
The 64-year-old Fumo is one of the most powerful lawmakers in Harrisburg. He is currently awaiting trial on federal corruption charges. Three Democrats have filed to run against him in the April primary. If Fumo wins, he will still have to beat a Republican in November.
