Officer Involved In Crash During Pursuit

A Philadelphia Police cruiser was involved in an accident following a pursuit of robbery suspects at the corner of 34th Street and Haverford Avenue.

A Philadelphia Police cruiser was involved in an accident following a pursuit of robbery suspects in West Philadelphia Friday afternoon.
According to police, the incident began when two suspects robbed a delivery truck in the 500 block of Hanson Street.
The suspects fled the scene in the van and police gave chase. Police said one suspect jumped from the van, but was taken into custody on 34th Street between Walnut and Chestnut Streets.
Police said the second suspect drove off and eventually parked his car in the front of Drexel University's library. The suspect was able to escape on foot. Police searched the library for the suspect, but to no avail.
While responding to the incident, a police cruiser crashed at the corner of 34th Street and Haverford Avenue.
According to police, no one was injured in the crash.
Police are actively continuing their search for the remaining suspect.
