Soul Slay Dragons With Last Second TD Pass

PHILADELPHIA (AP) ―

Matt D'Orazio threw a 28-yard touchdown pass to Larry Brackins on the final play of the game to give the Philadelphia Soul a 49-48 victory over the New York Dragons in the Arena Football League playoffs Saturday night.

With 7 seconds left, the Soul trailed 48-43. D'Orazio dropped back and connected with Brackins on a crossing pattern. The receiver dashed toward the end zone and barely broke the goal line while two Dragons tried to bring him down. The play was reviewed by video replay and the touchdown stood.

The Soul will host the winner of Monday's game between Cleveland and Georgia in the conference championship game next weekend for a trip to the Arena Bowl in New Orleans on July 27.

New York quarterback Aaron Garcia hooked up with Kevin Swayne for five touchdowns. Garcia passed for 337 yards and Swayne had 14 catches for 166.

The Dragons scored 13 consecutive points in the final 5:30, but the Soul put together a four-play, 42-yard drive to win it.

D'Orazio threw six touchdown passes, four to Chris Jackson.
