Sinkhole Leads To Apartment Evacuations In N.J.

LINDENWOLD, NJ (CBS 3) ― A water main break that forced evacuations from a Camden County apartment complex has been fixed.

The Heathers Apartments complex in Lindenwold, N.J. was evacuated early Tuesday morning due to a water main break.

A sinkhole formed on Laurel Road as a result of the break, and residents were asked to leave the complex at about 5:30 a.m.

The sinkhole sent mud and sewage into first floor apartments, and created a sinkhole about five feet wide and five feet deep.

Officials said the tenants may have to wait a month before being able to return to their apartments.
