Ship Bottom Police Investigate Attempted Abduction
SHIP BOTTOM, N.J. (CBS 3) ―
Police in Ocean County are looking for a woman who attempted to abduct two young children from a beach entrance on Monday, July 6.
According to Ship Bottom Police, the woman approached a 10-year-old girl and a six-year-old boy at the 15th Street beach entrance and engaged them in "rude and provocative" conversation.
The young girl ran away and while the boy tried to follow her the woman grabbed his arm and told him to come with her. The boy eventually freed himself from the suspect and told his parents about what had happened.
Both the girl and the boy escaped unharmed.
Police said the woman is white, in her 30's, has a medium build and was wearing tan Capri pants.
