All it took was a phone call to save the life of an 87-year-old
New Castle County woman.

County police rescued a woman
Thursday morning when she didn't respond to an automated Senior Roll Call
Lifeline phone call.
The Senior Roll Call Lifeline is a free program that calls
the homes of its subscribers every day to make sure they are doing well.
An administrator from the Senior Roll Call noticed the woman
didn't respond to their call around 10:35 a.m. and notified the authorities.
When the officers arrived they found the woman in her
backyard unable to lift herself up after she fell trying to get out of the
pool.
Unfortunately to woman fell at about 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday
and was forced to stay outside all night during thunderstorms until Senior Roll
Call tried to contact her on Thursday morning.
The victim was transported to Wilmington Hospital
for treatment.
