Santa Claus In Need Of A Digital Upgrade

PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ― The gift giving season has arrived, but this year Santa needs a digital update for generation tech.

"That's a big part of what we're doing as a company driving technology," said David Humpl, store manager for Toys R Us.

Toys R Us clued us in on some of their hottest items for tweens.. which look a lot more like gadgets than toys.

Toys R Us is now selling computers that they consider kid friendly. The Asus Eee laptop is perfect for little hands because it only weighs two pounds. This computer won't put a hole in your wallet, because it only costs between $269 and $299 dollars.

Has your child always wanted a scooter? The iMod from Razor might get a wow out of your little techy this holiday. It's an update from your usual ride, with an FM radio and speakers that even connect to your iPod..

There are other toys that seem a little more like a gadget for the special forces. The Eyeclops Night Vision Goggles let you see in the dark using infrared. They cost $69.99... but watch out mom and dad.. that means your kids can get into all sorts of trouble while your fast asleep!

In 2008, cuddly is out.. and robotic is in. The hottest pet robot is Wall-E, made famous in the movie. He comes remote controlled at 59.99. Your child can even make him sing and dance.

If your child wants to do the dancing himself, the U-Dance gaming system from Hasbro might be the perfect present. The electronic sensors that are placed on their hands and feet allow for free movement, which is reflected on the television screen. Endless hours of moving and groving for $59.99.
