Ex-Teacher Pleads Guilty To Affair With Girl, 17
DOYLESTOWN, Pa. (AP) ―
A former teacher in suburban Philadelphia has pleaded guilty to charges from his months-long affair with a 17-year-old girl in his school.
Former Council Rock High School South math teacher Robert Hawkins pleaded guilty Wednesday to a felony charge of endangering the welfare of children and the misdemeanor of corruption of minors.
Bucks County Chief Deputy District Attorney Jennifer Schorn asked the 43-year-old Newtown man in court whether other teachers knew of the affair but did not report it as required by law.
She also asked if other teachers had helped him get rid of evidence. He refused to answer, citing his constitutional right against self-incrimination.
A message left after business hours Wednesday at defense lawyer Marc Neff's office wasn't immediately returned.
