Possible Police Impersonator Sought In Camden Co.
LINDENWOLD (CBS 3) ―
A warning
has been issued after a sighting of a possible police impersonator in Camden County.
Lindenwold
Police said a 21-year-old woman reported being pulled over by an unmarked car
on the 2700 block of Egg Harbor Road on January 25 at about 9 p.m.
The woman
told authorities the vehicle had a red and blue light in its dashboard. The
driver of the unmarked car apparently flashed his lights and sounded the horn
in order to get the woman to pull to the side of the road.
A white
male in his late 20s, wearing a black jacket, dark pants and a light blue
shirt, approached the woman's vehicle and asked for identification according to
the victim.
The
suspect apparently said the female matched the description of a suspect wanted
by police and asked her to exit the vehicle so he could check a tattoo on her
back.
The
victim said the suspect placed her head on the vehicle's hood and began to look
down the back of her shirt when another vehicle approached. She told police the
suspect stopped the search and let her go at the sight of the car.
