New Parents Hope Baby Brings Phillies Win

PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ― On the eve before the day Catherine Hicks was scheduled to give birth, she and husband spent it the best way they could: at Game 5 of the World Series.

Catherine was scheduled to be induced on Tuesday and was excited to say she had spent the night before her daughter's birth attending what could have been a World Series title for the Philadelphia Phillies.

But with word the game was suspended, Catherine and Kevin were hoping for plan B, and that was to attend Wednesday evening's game with their new daughter, Gemma. In fact, as season ticket holders, Kevin contacted officials at the ball park to try and arrange for special seating.

Although Catherine and baby Gemma are doing fine, she says she's not able to leave Lankenau Hospital for a few days, so the family will be watching from the hospital.

Dad Kevin says he hopes his new daughter's birthday will have special significance, with a win from the Phillies Wednesday night.
