Suspect Sought After East Mount Airy Shooting
PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ―
Philadelphia Police are searching for a suspect who shot and wounded a passenger in a passing minivan in East Mount Airy Friday morning.
Just before 10 a.m., police said a 38-year-old man was shot in the chest while sitting in the passenger seat of a minivan in the 800 block of Stafford Street.
The driver of the minivan initially rushed the wounded man to nearby Germantown Hospital, but the victim was later transported to Einstein Hospital in critical condition.
Following the shooting, the suspect reportedly ran into a nearby home.
Philadelphia SWAT units swarmed a home after reports of a potential barricade situation. Officers were unable to find anyone inside the residence.
The suspect remains on the loose.
