PSPCA Offers $10K Reward In Burned Dog Case

PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ―

The PSPCA is offering a $10,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest and prosecution of those responsible for burning a pit bull found at 5443 Tabor Road.

The investigative humane officers of the PSPCA responding to the scene near the Olney Train Station found a young pit bull covered in a towel dosed with lighter fluid. According to the officials, the dog had recently been set on fire. Agents also found a dead dog in a trash bag a few feet away from the burned dog.

PSPCA Chief Investigative Veterinarian Rachel Lee will perform a necropsy on the body to determine the cause of death; it is believed that the dog had been in the area for about a week.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the PSPCA's confidential cruelty reporting hotline 1-866-601-SPCA
