Investigators Bust Apparent Bird-Fighting Ring

PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ― Investigators said they have uncovered an apparent bird-fighting ring inside a North Philadelphia home.

An SPCA officer apparently heard crowing coming from a home at 6th and Clearfield Streets.

Once crews were able to get inside the home, they found 25 birds in addition to a cat and dog.

Investigators are attempting to determine who owns the birds. So far, there have no charges filed or arrests.

SPCA officers said some of the birds are extremely dangerous and will have to be euthanized.
