N.J. Motor Vehicle To Close Earlier To Save Money
TRENTON (AP) ―
New Jersey is dropping one customer-friendly feature at its 45 Motor Vehicle Commission offices: staying open late.
The last day with evening hours will be June 19.
The move comes amid a tight state budget. The MVC says it will save about $4 million next year because of the change.
The agencies will still be open for business on Saturday mornings.
Each office currently stays open until 7:30 p.m. one night a week. They'll all close at 4:30 p.m. in four weeks.
