Fallen Officer Honored In West Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ―
The life of an 18-year Philadelphia Police veteran was honored Sunday afternoon in West Philadelphia.
A police motorcade led family and friends from Linden and Torresdale Avenues to the sight of the crash.
Officer Isabel Nazario, 40, died from injuries sustained in an accident at the intersection of 39th and Wallace Streets in the city's Belmont section at about 9:00 p.m. Friday night.
A vigil was held when they arrived to the scene of the accident, and members of Nazario's family spoke about the life of the dedicated officer.
Nazario's mother, fiancée, and teenage daughter were in attendance.
Nazario and her partner, Officer Terry Tull, were assisting the pursuit of a stolen vehicle when they were struck by the fleeing SUV.
Tull's wife attended the vigil and spoke to the crowd about her husband's recovery and Officer Nazario.
Tull remains hospitalized with broken bones following the crash.
