Chester Co. Midshipman Found Dead At Naval Academy
KENNETT SQUARE, Pa. (CBS 3) ―
The family of a Midshipman from Chester County is grieving following her mysterious death at the Naval Academy.
Kristen Dickmann, 19, of Chester County, was found unconscious inside her Annapolis dorm room earlier this week and later died.
Kristen, a 2007 graduate of Unionville-Chadds Ford High School in Kennett Square, was a star volleyball player at the school.
Friends and former classmates are stunned to hear the tragic news.
"They were crying about it because she was really smart, she was really good at athletics, all the sports teams, we are all sad," student Proshanti Banerjee said.
An autopsy on Kristen came back inconclusive and her death remains a mystery.
According to her parents, Kristen had no history of health problems when she joined the Naval Academy. She had intentions of becoming a pilot just like her father.
A memorial service is planned for next week at Kristen's alma mater. Funeral services are scheduled for next week at the Naval Academy.
