Young Girl Killed In Mayfair Crash

PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ― A young girl was killed after being struck by a pickup in Northeast Philadelphia Tuesday evening.

Police said a 7-year-old girl was hit by a vehicle near Unruh and Brous Avenues in Mayfair at about 6 p.m.

The young victim was rushed to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children where she was later pronounced dead.

Police said the driver of the pickup stopped at the scene. The tragic crash remains under police investigation.

The accident marks the second time in as many days that a child was struck and killed in Mayfair.

On Monday, a 12-year-old suffered fatal injures after being hit by a tractor trailer along Cottman Avenue near Cottage Street.
