John Marzano Found Dead In South Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ―

Local radio and TV personality and former Major League baseball player, John Marzano was found dead in his home Saturday afternoon.

Marzano, a Philadelphia native, reportedly suffered a heart attack in his South Philadelphia home on Saturday.

The 45-year-old played baseball at Temple University and was later drafted in the first round by the Boston Red Sox in 1984.

After baseball Marzano found a place in the behind the microphone working for local media outlets.

Marzano was heard and seen locally on 610 WIP Sports Radio and Comcast Sports Net for years and was working for MLB.com at the time of his death.
