Arrest Made In Murder Of New Castle Co. Woman
Talleyville Woman Found Dead In Her Home
TALLEYVILLE, DE (AP) ―
Police in Delaware have
made an arrest in the murder of a 44-year-old New Castle County
woman.
Rick Lamar Wiley, 31, was taken into custody in Gloucester
County Sunday morning and charged with the death of Karin Clayton.
Karin Clayton was discovered unresponsive by a relative at about 10:05 a.m. in her home in the 100 block of Cleveland Avenue in the McDaniel Heights community near Talleyville, said Cpl. Trinidad Navarro, a New Castle County Police spokesman.
When officers arrived, they found the victim on the floor, he said. Details about how she died will not be released pending a medical examiner's investigation.
Wiley was also believed tohave the victim's 2003 Dodge Durango, which is missing, police said. The vehicle's registration number is PC475266.
Police said Wiley was a male acquaintance of Karin Clayton.
In New Castle County's first weekend homicide, which happened Friday night, a Wilmington man was arrested early Saturday after leading police on a short chase and being tasered twice.
Victor "Bruce" Landy, 26, of of the 1600 block of W. Sixth Street, Wilmington, was charged with first-degree murder in the killing of Christopher Snow, 26, police said.
The killing happened at about 9:18 p.m. Friday at New Jersey and Carvel avenues in the Hampton Walk Apartments near New Castle.Landy and Snow, the brother of Landy's girlfriend, got into a verbal dispute on the street which became physical, police said. Landy then stabbed Snow several times about the torso and fled in a black Acura, they said.
When police arrived, Snow was lying unresponsive on the street. He was taken to Christiana Hospital, where he died.
Landy was later spotted by police coming out of a house in the 1600 block of W. Sixth Street in Wilmington.
He was awaiting arraignment today at New Castle County Police headquarters.
