Lehigh Family Honors Lost Mother, Wife

A Lehigh Valley family is honoring their wife and mother who was killed in a tragic jewelry store accident one year ago Wednesday.
The family is paying tribute to her life and legacy, in the same way she lived.
On November 21 of last year, a car in the South Whitehall Township shopping center careened out of control and slammed into Bixler's Jewelry, killing Joan Zamborksy.
It has been an emotional year for the 59-year-olds family, who have found strength from each other.
This part March, the family spent what would have been Joan's 60th birthday in Paris as a family.
It was a trip Joan and her husband Don had planned on taking.
"We want to go with you and celebrate like she would have wanted us to and we snuck a bottle of wine up the top of the Eiffel Tower and celebrated Joan," daughter Sonia said. "It was great, but it was also bittersweet."
Although the driver in the fatal was charged, he walked away with a fine, but Joan's family said that was not important.
"There is nothing that we can do or say that is going to change what happened, I don't need any closure from that aspect of what happened, so what's done is done," son Dave said.
This Saturday, the family will hold their second annual "
Celebrate Joan 4K-ish Walk."
It is in Allentown's Trexler Park Saturday at 10:00 a.m.
