Center City Speakeasy Now Open
Where To Laugh Loud And Speakeasy
PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ―
There's a new place in town where the "dapper dans" and the "gussied up gals" can laugh loud and speak easy.
Located at 200 S. Broad Street, in the heart of Center City, JLSullivan's Speakeasy manages to fuse an old fashioned, roaring 20s inspired theme (think feather-clad flapper girls) with modern-day accoutrements (think 34 HDTV's) all while promising something for everyone.
General Manager Michael Churbuck said, "We provide an atmosphere that is really conducive to any sort of party. Whatever the situation, we provide the vehicle to have a good time."
That includes a luxury dining area, private rooms and an 80-foot bar.
The new venue also offers upscale American cuisine (Kobe beef sloppy Joe sliders and crispy duck nachos) and flapper friendly cocktails (Manhattans and Martinis.)
To enjoy a meal for a fraction of the cost, be sure to join the "5 o'clock club."
"From 5 7 p.m. on weekdays, we have a five dollar option that includes spirit, beer and food," Churbuck said.
They may be spreading the word now, but not for long.
"We have a do not ask, do not tell policy. Whatever happens here, it's a speakeasy and we keep true to that form."
