'Pigs' Expected To Fly Over N.J. Statehouse

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) ― Inflatable swine might float over New Jersey's Statehouse today.

Opponents of Governor Corzine's plan to raise tolls plan to rally and release more than 100 "flying pigs."

The pig-theme is a reference to Corzine's comment that "pigs will fly over the Statehouse" before there's a realistic level of new taxes or spending cuts to right the state's finances.

The Flying Pigs Coalition rally is being promoted by New Jersey 101.5 radio hosts Jim Gearhart and "The Jersey Guys."

Opponents want large spending cuts instead of toll increases.

Corzine wants to raise tolls to pay off debt and fund transportation projects. But the governor repeatedly has said he's willing to compromise.+
