Deadly Southampton House Fire Under Investigation

A house fire in Southampton, New Jersey that claimed the lives of an elderly couple early Sunday morning is under investigation.

The fire broke out at about 4:30 a.m. at a house on South Westminster Drive in Burlington County.

One of the victims was found dead inside the home and the other victim was rushed to a hospital where they were later pronounced dead.

According to police the victims were 78 and 80-years-old.  Neighbors spoke about the couple.

"Very lovely people.  They kept to themselves you know but she's used to be very outgoing and we had parties together," neighbor Ruth Hanson said.

The victims' names have yet to be released.
