The upcoming Thanksgiving holiday could serve up extra portions of the H1N1 Swine Flu.
"Anytime people are close together there's a possibility of germs spreading," said Dr. Anne Schuchat with the Centers For Disease Control.
The CDC is launching its largest ever public service campaign on safe holiday travel and how to guard against the spread of the virus.
"It should not ruin your holidays.
By practicing a little bit of prevention everyone can enjoy their holidays and stay well," said Dr. Schuchat.
With the expected crush of Thanksgiving travelers on planes and trains, federal health officials have issued safe holiday travel tips reminding people to wash their hands, cover coughs and sneezes, and stay put if you're sick.
"If you're ill with fever and cough you aught to stay home from work or school or from travel until 24 hours after your fever has broken.
This is a prudent.
Even if it happens, even if you get sick while you're traveling it's best to stay where you are until your fevers gone for 24 hours," said Dr. Schuchat.
