  July 4th:
North Wildwood:

Independence Day parade.  Noontime parade proceeds North on Surf avenue from 26th to 2nd avenues.  Prizes for best-decorated bicycles.  For info contact 609-522-2955.
Ocean City, NJ:


Ocean City has scheduled five special events for its 4th of July Celebration.

Highlight of the days is a fireworks display at 9 p.m. shot from a barge off the 9th Street Beach. Spectators can view the show from the business section of the boardwalk. A barge is being utilized to provide a more spectacular program.

The day begins with two bike Parades. The South Ocean City Parade starts 10 a.m. from Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 40th and Asbury Ave. The Parade route is from 40th and Central Ave. to 53rd St. and ends at the 52nd St. Playground for refreshments and prizes.

Participants should be at the Church parking lot by 9:15 a.m. The Parade is hosted by the South Ocean City Improvement Assn., the City's oldest neighborhood Association, established in 1914. It features colorfully decorated bikes, Miss Night in Venice and her court, Miss Ocean City, Junior Miss Ocean City and Little Miss Ocean City.

The Garden Civic Assn. Bike Parade begins 10 a.m. by the Longport Bridge. This event has also been held for many years and has become a colorful tradition on the North end of the island. Both bike parades are free and prizes are awarded.

At 5 p.m., a kite flying contest will be held at the 9th Street Beach. The event is sponsored by Air Circus on the Boardwalk and will be directed by Doug Jewell. Prizes will be awarded for best decorated kite, highest flying kite, best stunt kite, etc. Entry is free.

The Ocean City Pops Orchestra will present a patriotic concert starting 7:30 p.m. at the Music Pier, Boardwalk and Moorlyn Terrace. Singer Steve Amerson joins the Pops with his new tour program, "Amazed by America" at the Pier auditorium. The concert will conclude before the fireworks display.

Tickets are $20 and $12 available at the Music Pier Box Office, 609-525-9248. The program is sponsored by Jilly's on the boardwalk.

Cape May, NJ: 

Head to the southernmost tip of the state and join the Independence Day Celebrations in Cape May. The day begins at 7:00 in the morning with Kiwanis Pancake Day. It runs until 12:30 and is held on the Boardwalk. At 1:00 that afternoon the town holds an Independence Day Parade at the Convention Hall. [Get more info @ www.capemaycity.org] Congress Hall is the site for an "All-American Picnic." and lobster bake. The Cape May, Fireworks Extravaganza will be held at Congress Hall at 9:00 pm. 



Sea Isle City, NJ:

A full day of activities are scheduled in Sea Isle City for the fourth of July. There's a VFW Flea Market and a Jr. Olympics at Dealy Field. Fireworks at 9pm, at JFK Boulevard and the beach. The Rain date is July 5th. [Get more info @ the events page @ www.seaislecity.org ]

Southampton, NJ:

"Celebrating Abe Lincoln's 200th Birthday" will be the theme for this year's Lower Southampton Township Independence Day Parade when it moves in musical motion at Second Street at Bustleton Pike on Saturday, July 4 at 1 p.m.

Mount Ephraim:

The Mount Ephraim Fourth of July Parade will be held on Saturday, July 4.  We will start the festivities off at 9:00am with our baby parade, followed by our bike parade at 10:00am.  Registration for the baby parade will take place between 8:15 and 8:45 in the Union parking lot on Kings Highway and then proceed down Centre Ave.  Registration for the bike parade will begin at 9:30 on Centre Ave.  We ask that all participants of these parades to please join us in marching in the main parade at noon.  
The main parade will begin at the John West Senior Citizen Center and continue down Kings Highway to Audubon Lake.  This year the main parade will have Grand Marshalls.  The Celebration Committee has decided to honor 6 residents who have recently returned from oversea duty serving in our military.  This is the first time that we have had such a large amount of service men and woman returning back to Mt. Ephraim after serving our country.

Woodstown-Pilesgrove, NJ:

The Fourth of July Parade this holiday as line up starts at 9:00 am and the parade beginning at 10:00 am.

Smithville, NJ:

Everyone enjoys a parade, so come join the fun at Smithville's 4th of July Parade when more than 75 entries including marching bands, floats and local dignitaries celebrate the holiday in historic Smithville at Route 9 & East Moss Mill Road. For more information, call 609-748-6160.
