An 8-year-old was rushed to the hospital after being pinned underneath a car following a sledding accident in Camden County Wednesday afternoon.
The accident happened in the 100 block of 9th Avenue in Glendora at about 3:00 p.m.
According to police, the boy, identified as Keith Davis, was sledding down the driveway of a neighbor's residence when he fell off the sled and slid underneath a sport utility as it was pulling away from the curb of that residence.
Officials said Davis was trapped for nearly 20 minutes underneath the SUV.
"The fire rescue personnel worked together and rescued the child, raising the vehicle and some other extrication techniques," Deputy Chief Harry Earle.
The 8-year-old was taken to Cooper University Hospital and is listed in critical but stable condition. He is scheduled to undergo surgery on Thursday.
"He does have tire marks from head to toe, he has a broken leg up in his thigh and his arm is also shattered, it needs pins, he needs to have an operation," the victim's aunt Michelle Vervi explained.
Gloucester Township Police are interviewing the driver and witnesses as part of standard procedure.
The incident remains under investigation.
