Seneca Teacher Arrested For Alleged Sexual Assault

TABERNACLE, N.J. (CBS 3) ― A teacher at Seneca High School in Tabernacle has been arrested for allegedly having sexual contact with a female student inside the school.

Eric L. Johansen Jr. of Mount Laurel was arrested Thursday and has been charged with Aggravated Criminal Sexual Contact (Third Degree).

According to investigators, the sexual contact occurred on March 4.

Johansen, 30, has been employed by the school district for four years, including three years as a full-time teacher. He was involved with the football and wrestling programs at the school.

The district has reassigned Johansen to a role that does not involve contact with students.

Johansen had an initial court appearance on Friday. If convicted, he could face up to five years in prison.

The alleged incident remains under investigation. Anyone with helpful information is asked to call the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office at 609-265-5879.
