Drexel University To Rename Law School

PHILADELPHIA (AP) ― Drexel University's law school will be named for alumnus Earle Mack, a philanthropist who has given $15 million to the institution.

Mack is a businessman, arts advocate and former U.S. ambassador to Finland. He graduated from Drexel almost 50 years ago.

The law school, which opened in Philadelphia in 2006, is scheduled to hold a naming ceremony Thursday. The university has guaranteed that it will match Mack's donation by raising an additional $15 million.

Drexel's first class of lawyers will graduate in the summer of 2009.
