Del. State Trooper Charged In Armed Robbery

DOVER, Del. (AP) ―

Delaware State Police say a state trooper has been charged in an armed robbery during a poker game Feb. 22 at the Wild Quail Golf and Country Club.

Police say 27-year-old HyunJin Kim of Dover was a trooper for 2 1/2 years. He has been suspended from the force.

Investigators say three armed men entered the country club through the field house. Two robbers were carrying handguns and the third had a shotgun. According to police, the robbers took money and electronic devices then drove away.

Police say evidence left at the scene had been purchased at the Camden Wal-Mart, where they say video images identified Kim as a suspect in the robbery.

Kim is charged with 11 counts of first-degree robbery, wearing a disguise during a felony, possessing a firearm during a felony, second-degree conspiracy and offensive touching.

He was ordered held on $240,000 cash bond.
