Del. Marching Band To Play At Obama Inauguration
GREENVILLE, Del. (CBS 3) ―
Millions of people are expected to attend the inauguration of Barack Obama and a Delaware marching band will part of the historic event.
The Alexis I. duPont High School band from Greenville, Delaware has been selected to march in the parade.
"How often can you say that you marched in the inauguration of a president? And this year will be ultra-historical," band teacher Paul Parets said.
For the band's 260 members, special performances are nothing new to them. Several weeks back, they performed in London to play for the Queen.
"It's a great opportunity to do something that nobody else has ever done," said one member, referring to the inauguration parade.
The presidential inauguration will be held on January 20, 2008 in Washington, D.C.
