Thief Steals Charity Jar In Phoenixville

PHOENIXVILLE, Pa. (CBS 3) ― A brazen thief was caught on surveillance camera stealing a charity jar that was full of cash from inside a Chester County gas station.

The cowardly act happened early Sunday morning inside a Phoenixville gas station located on Route 23.

A camera behind the counter captured the suspect tucking the plastic container under his jacket and exiting the store.

Police said the man then came back into the store with some of the money to make purchases.

The money was intended to help children with terminal illnesses.
