A teen driver has been charged in connection to a deadly crash in Bucks County earlier this year.
The 17-year-old Central Bucks High School South student has been charged with homicide by vehicle in connection to the September 2 single-car crash.
Alex Smolin, 16, was ejected during the crash and was pronounced dead. The female driver and a 16-year-old passenger were also injured in the crash.
The accident occurred on Street Road near Elbow Lane in Warrington, approximately one mile from Central Bucks South.
The driver's name will not be released because of her age.
Sources tell Eyewitness News that the driver was going 69 mph in a 40 mph speed limit zone. Sources also say that cell phone records show that the driver's cell phone was in use just prior to the accident.
The teen driver remains under house arrest and will face charges in juvenile court.
