Bruce Springsteen performed an acoustic set at a rally in Philadelphia Saturday to help the campaign of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama.
Tickets the the 'Vote For Change rally were and special tickets were needed to sit up front for the performance.
"People are really, really excited, everyone loves Bruce and Bruce is Philadelphia for us," Obama campaign volunteer Arlene Wilson said.
Crews spent all day Friday making final preparations on the Parkway, including assembling the stage where Springsteen will perform.
Pennsylvania's voter registration deadline is Monday. With Pennsylvania considered a battleground state, Saturday was the perfect time to rally voters.
Bruce's set was played on a small stage one Parkway between 20th and 22nd Streets and drew an estimated 50,000 fans.
Former Philadelphia Mayor, Gov. Ed Rendell addressed the crowd before Springsteen took the stage. Rendell gave a rollicking speech urging the crowd to vote for Barack Obama.
Rendell let the crowd know that nominating Barack Obama wasn't going to be an easy task.
"This election is going to get mean. It's going to get mean. It's going to get tough and its going to get dirty," said Rendell
Springsteen took the the stage at about 4:40 and stopped playing around 5:15.
